World Water Day was first celebrated on 22 March 1993. This year i.e World Water Day marks 50 years of celebration of World Water Day. The day was first celebrated in 1993 after it was approved by United Nations General Assembly in 1992. World Water Day also aims at highlighting the issues related to sanitation. Globally the sanitation problem is also intricately linked to water issues.
