Abdul Kalam was born to a poor family on 15 October 1931 in Tamil Nadu, Rameswaram. His family was dealing with poverty, and there were no facilities for him to learn and live. From the very beginning of his childhood, Kalam was predicted to be very bright and sensible. He completed his graduation from Saint Joseph’s College and earned a degree in aerospace from Madras Institute of Technology, later joined the defense organization Defense Research and Development Organization. Kalam also showcased his excellence at the Indian Space Research Organization in 2002. Kalam was selected as the 11th President of India. To honour the greatness of Dr. Kalam, World Students Day is celebrated all over the globe.
