World Hemophilia Day 2023: History
The first World Haemophilia Day was established in 1989 by the WFH (World Federation of Hemophilia). April 17th was designated as the day to raise awareness about haemophilia and other bleeding disorders. This date was chosen in honour of Frank Schnabel, who was born on April 17, 1941, and devoted his life to improving the lives of individuals with bleeding disorders.
World Hemophilia Day also commemorates the life and legacy of Frank Schnabel.
