Work Load
The profile and work load is almost same but based on certain interviews of our selected students in both these job profile. The work load is comparatively less in Regional Rural Banks than in scheduled commercial banks. Not only this but in scheduled commercial bank, other things needs to be done as well whereas in case of RRB, there will be very little to do other than your regular duties.
Career Progression
The career progression is another factor that candidates must keep in mind while making a choice between the two. The career progression is way better and much faster in Scheduled commercial banks than in Regional Rural Banks. A candidate selected as a clerk in scheduled commercial banks can easily reach upto scale-V in the time span of 15 years with timely promotions while the same is not possible in IBPS RRB because the process is much slower.
Postings
The posting in case of Regional Rural Banks is better than PSBs because one can easily choose the place of posting in IBPS RRB while the same option is not available for IBPS Clerk 2020. The number of branches are more in PSBs and hence the chances become thinner.

Difference in Recruitment Exams

In IBPS RRB Exams there is an added advantage for candidates who are not well versed or comfortable in English Language, as you can choose to attempt the prelims exam in English/Hindi/Regional Language and there are just two subjects for prelims- Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. And for the IBPS RRB Main exam candidates can choose to attempt either English or Hindi Language in the test. Whereas in IBPS Clerk Recruitment Exam, candidates have to attempt the English Language section in both prelims and mains test.
