Managing Director and CEO: This is the topmost post in public sector bank. The role of a MD & CEO is very dynamic because He/ She is responsible for conducting board meetings, presiding over bank operations, overseeing the revenue generation of the bank, analyze financial reports, prepares budgets and allocates to various departments, identifies new business avenues and communicates the company strategy on a regular basis to its peers and juniors. Director: This is the second topmost post in a public sector banks and primary role of a director is the promotion and marketing of banking products and services to increase the business of the bank through respected client visits and interactions. The Director also holds the responsiblility for resolving financial and manpower conflicts along with monitoring the sales target in a particular time frame.
General Manager: This comes next in this heirarchy which is the General Manager who is responsible for the business development, client retention and employee recruitment etc. of the bank. It is the responsibility of a General Manager to establish new contacts, keeping relation with the existing bank customers and clients and developing marketing strategies to improve business are some of the regular work done by the General Manager.
Chartered Accountant: This is one of the most important part of this whole leadership chain as a Chartered Accountant is a must in a bank to devise financial and legal compliance. It is the responsibility of a C.A. to keep monitor the accounting procedures of the banks and take care of the financial and accounting issues of the banks.
Bank Associate: A bank associates is responsible for enhancing the financial capital of the respective bank by devising various banking strategies. He also devise new marketing schemes, products and services or the bank and interacting with customers and helping them find the proper services/facilities for them.
Branch Manager: We all have visited the bank branch and have seen a cabin on which a name plate with- Branch Manager written over it is placed. It is the responsiblility of a branch manager for handling the particular branch of the bank they are posted to. The daily banking activities needs to be supervise by the branch manager along with an eye to increase the business of the bank.
Assistant Branch Manager: Once you entered into a bank as PO the next position you get promoted to is of the Assistant Branch Manager who is also known as the junior of Branch managers and he/she is generally posted in urban branches of public sector banks with heavy work pressure.
Probationary Officers: Candidates entered into the bank as PO which is an entry level officer post in the banks with good pay structure and working opportunities. A Probationary Officer is required to to handle daily customer transactions, draft insurance and handle loan activities on a regular basis.
