UPSC Civil Services Selection Procedure
UPSC Civil Services Recruitment 2020 is considered as one of the toughest due to the nature of the exam. It comprises if 3 stages:
UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam: It is qualifying exam and has two papers: GS and CSAT. CSAT marks are not considered for cut-off but students are expected to clear it with 33% marks while the GS paper is of 200 marks and 100 questions which forms the part of cut-off. In GS paper, an aspirant have to clear cut-off marks in order to reach the next stage of the recruitment. Both the paper is objective in nature.
UPSC Civil Services Main Exam: The Main exam is the crucial stage and is considered the hardest because its marks are used to prepare for the final merit list. It consist of 9 papers in total, out of which 2 papers carries 300 marks each and they are qualifying in nature while the rest of 7 papers carry 1750 marks. All the paper are subjective in nature.
UPSC Civil Services Interview Round: Interview round is very important in UPSC Civil Services Exam because it consist of 275 marks and it’s mark is added in the merit list .
