The total number of vacancies according to its advertisement is 696. So here are a few important points that every aspirant must be enthusiastic to know about.

☛ What are the posts available under this recruitment project for freshers?
The post which is available in this recruitment project is Assistant.

☛ When will be the exam conducted?
The Tentative Dates for the Preliminary and Mains Exams are 22nd Sept and 23rd Oct 2017 respectively

☛ Are there any major changes?
Yes, for the first time UIIC will be conducting 2 rounds of exam- Prelims and Mains for the post of Assistants. Earlier there used to be only one exam of 120 minutes with 5 sections.


☛ How many vacancies are there?
The number of vacancies is  696 (provisionally) for the post of Assistant.

☛ Will there be any interview after the written result?
No, there will be no interview for recruitment of Assistants in UIIC.


☛ Will the exam be conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?

Common Written Exam for UIIC will be conducted in online mode for both Prelims and Mains exams.


☛ What is the age criteria to apply for this common written exam?
The age criteria is as on 30/06/2017: Age of a candidate should be between 18 years and 28 years i.e. candidates should have not been born earlier than 01.07.1989 and later than 30.06.1999 (both dates inclusive)



☛ What is the educational qualification required for Assistant in this recruitment process?
Graduate from a recognised University or its equivalent and Knowledge of reading, writing, and speaking skills of regional language of the state of recruitment is essential.


☛ I have given my final year graduation exams but the result has not been declared yet. Can I apply?
All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognised by Govt. Of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the result should have been declared on or before. 30.06.2017.

Will there be a Regional Language Test pr Language Proficiency Test?
Yes, according to the notification the organisation will check the language proficiency of candidates through a regional language proficiency test.

☛ What are the Salary and Allowances for this post?
1. Scale of pay: Rs.14435-840(1)- 15275-915(2)- 17105-1030(5)- 22255- 1195(2)- 24645- 1455(3)- 29010-1510(2)- 32030-1610(5)-


2. Emoluments: Total emoluments works out to approximately Rs.23,000/- p.m. in the initial stage in a Metro city. Other allowances may vary depending upon the place of posting. Apart from allowances, other benefits such as Lump sum Domiciliary Medical Benefits, Membership of Group Mediclaim Policy for reimbursement of Hospitalisation expenses, Leave Travel Subsidy and other Staff welfare schemes would be as per the rules of the Company.


☛ Should I be careful while selecting the Region?
Yes, as you should be proficient in that region’s regional language and you might have to undergo a language proficiency test in the selection procedure.



☛ What is the application Fee?
Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
Rs. 500 /- for all others


☛ When will the registration start?
The online registration will start on 14th August 2017. The last date to apply and pay application fees is 28th August.


☛ I have scored 55% in Graduation. Am I eligible to sit for the exam?
Yes, you can apply as there is no percentage criterion. You just need to be a graduate.



☛ I am 19 years old. Can I sit for the exam?
Yes, You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for the post of Assistant.


☛ How to calculate the Percentage?
The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honors/optional/additional optional subject if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

☛ What is the Structure of the exam?
The examination will be conducted in two phases- Preliminary and Mains Exam. The Preliminary Examination (On-line Objective Test) for 100 marks, would be of ONE Hour duration and will consist of 3 sections as follows:

The Main Examination (On-line Objective Test) for 250 marks, would be of TWO Hours duration and will consist of 5 sections as follows:

☛ Is the exam Bilingual?
All the tests except for the Test of English Language in both the exams will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.


☛ What is the cut-off for being recruited?
There is no fixed cut-off. It depends on the performance of the candidates each year. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Mains Examination and also a minimum total score to be considered for further process.


☛ Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?
Yes, there is a sectional cut-off in the exam. You have to clear every section.


☛ I have cleared the overall cutoff of the exam. However, I could not clear the cutoff for the general awareness section. Am I still eligible?
Unfortunately, you are not eligible to move to the interview stage. You must clear the cutoff for each section individually and the overall cutoff as well.


☛ Is there a criterion for negative marking?
There is negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer.

☛Wha is considered in merit list?

Merit list will be drawn up State-wise and Category-wise. The candidates who qualify in the Pre-recruitment Tests (Tier-I and Tier-II) should qualify in the Regional Language Test also subsequently.

☛Do you need Adhaar Card for this recruitment?
According to the notification released by UIIC, Valid AADHAR card (or) E-Aadhar Card should be produced during the Regional Language Test. It is advised to all the candidates to get a valid adhar card.
