Following are some important highlights of 30th August 2017:
- Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat flagged off a ‘Run for Uttarakhand’ to mark the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand. He also described the event as a dry run for the 2018 National Games to be hosted by Uttarakhand.
- A day after the resolution of the Doklam standoff, India announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a three-day visit to China, even as Bhutan welcomed the diplomatic end of the border crisis. Modi’s visit to China for the BRICS summit will be followed by his visit to Myanmar.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the highway projects worth over Rs. 5,610 crores. Among the 12 projects inaugurated included a long pending project of constructing a 1.4-km six-lane cable-stayed bridge across the Chambal river in Kota.He also laid the foundation stone for 11 road projects worth Rs. 9,490 crores in Rajasthan.
