Hello everyone ,
I prefer to be anonymous but yes my disqus id goes as Mr.Perfectionist. So, here I am finally mustered all the courage to write my success story in the journey as a, UIIC Administrative officer, and I must say the journey has been a bumpy ride, as I am a Hotel Mgmt graduate and trust me entering this cut throat competition arena is a task of its kind ,earlier I considered myself to be unfit for a govt job as because everyone around was an engineer and in every success story I could barely find any normal graduate , so to break this misconception that “only engineers make it to the final lists” , I am penning my success story to those out there ,who are non-engineers and feel they lack somewhere or the other and remind them to feel no less as because these degrees race is secondary ,hard work being the primary as nothing beats hard work and it takes you places.
So, coming down to my preparations, I started my preparations back on august 2015 after resigning from a reputed retail firm as a Mgmt Trainee on the motivation provided by my sister who is a Canara Po, so as soon as I reached Patna, I joined a nearby family teachers classes whose teachings sure built on my basics and moved forward later on to prepare for the exams on my own. Meanwhile I gave a lot many exams such as :
NABARD-written not cleared
SBI CLERK-Cleared
SBI PO-only PT qualified
UBI– didn’t make through
LIC AAO– failed, but learnt the trend of GA question, an eye-opener for me
RBI GRADE B-only pt qualified
UIIC AO– eventually selected
So , I wouldn’t waste much time of you guys and share my prep strategy for the respective sections:
1.) MATHS : This section was never my forte even being a science student and I just focused on DI and few selective miscellaneous questions that’s it.
2.) REASONING: This section became stronger and better with practice but puzzle was the catch every time , and one thing I observed is if you solve all the puzzles on a given exam day ,you could easily sail through any exam.
I really didn’t bother much for this section as because this being my comfort zone , but for those who crib on how to prepare English for them I have only one suggestion , read THE HNDU NEWSPAPER, it works like a miracle at least for me it worked to be honest, as because unlike other papers
3.) ENGLISH- the context in which everything is used Is strictly as per the exam trend and even acts as a GA booster, slowly you will get a hang of it,and then it would be a piece of cake,it takes time to read but once done you are through for the day and sub consciously your mind registers those words usage , gk topics etc..
4.) GENERAL AWARENESS- I made it my strongest section from my weakest section, thanks to LIC AAO exam which opened my eyes to the level of anything and everything can be asked trend, which needed to be covered to qualify GA , and yes do read the everyday GA updates of BA,follow GA updates religiously, you will soon be a master of this,it worked for me
I would even like to say that please do shift to online mode of study from the conventional pen paper mode , which is what I did as because the level of questions have increased and you need to adjust for the same, refer various websites , solve mocks but analysis is the main part, follow it as a ritual and you surely will sail through, one more thing – make any 3 sections strong and then no one could stop you, At the end ,everyone works hard ,but working hard in the right direction is the need of the hour!!
I would like to extend thanks to all my well wishers who helped me in any way in this journey and to the BA team, the mods, for their constant motivation and amazing chameleon like behavior when it came to providing the best memory based papers, mocks, capsules, tonics, hindu reviews, test series etc.etc.which worked to students advantage at the end, thus the list is endless,BA is like a package and that too for free . You people make the journey a playful one, I am truly indebted to BA team, all the mods, as BA was my online class for an year and I have solved almost all the quizzes over here, and the members here are very cooperative too, So keep up the good work BA!!
Lastly , I would like to say that there might be times you might feel low,but never ever give up as because it is a tried and tested fact that those who have never given up have reached places, So buckle up guys and grab a job , oppurtunites are ample ,but you need to identify your weakness and work on it,and sooner or later, you would be writing a success story just like me.
Thank you BA, and, you guys!
