Hello Friends,
My name is Swapna Rautray. I completed my B.Tech in 2015 in Electronics and communication engineering from Silicon Institute Of Technology(Bubaneswar).
First of all i want to thanks Bankersadda team from bottom of my heart. I checked number of banking preparation sites and bankersadda.com was one of the best among them. For every bank exam I studied GK Capsules, Current Affairs Quiz, Quant, English and Reasoning Quizzes and it helped me a lot because Bankersadda used to update the new question pattern daily.
In my final year of engineering I appeared for 3-4 IT sectors on-campus but could not make it to the final list, felt very disappointed as I used to clear every written exam. Then my father encouraged me in final year itself to go 4 banking preparation. I started my banking preparations right itself from Dec 2014, took (3 Months coaching).
I appeared for BOB Manipal and NIACL-AO in 4th year itself just to know the banking question pattern. I could not clear any of them as I had to prepare for my final semesters and preparation level was not good. After my Btech I started my preparation with full zeal from staying with dad at hyderabad. My dad supported me a lot in every phase of my life.My mom was also worried as i had no job after my Btech. She insisted me sometimes to go 4 IT but I decided not to go 4 it as i already had developed hatred towards private job. I was determined that i will definitely crack bank exam.(got inspired 4rm my hindi CBSE all India topper with a score:(98/100) and in 10th class with 92%).
My first exam was SBI-PO which was conducted in June. I scored 41.25 in prelims and could not clear the Quant cut-off (cut-off:47.5(gen). I was very much disappointed after the result. Then again I started my preparations with double hard work, determination once again and told myself “one day success will be mine”. Next exam was RBI-Assistant scored 147.75 cutoff was sky-high 169, literally I started crying after seeing my result. I cursed myself that day. Again my dad told me not 2 worry and start preparing 4 upcoming exams. Next exam was RRB-PO, here I cleared the written with 124.56 score(attempts:171) and cut-off was 109.25 felt happy, but again unfortunately i was not allowed for interview as i had no provisional certificate (mahan BPUT …/…).
Felt very disheartened and depressed. After so much of hard work again no success. I stopped reading and practising for bank exams for few days, because I could not get out of that shock.
Below is the list of my failures:
1. IBPS-PO : Prelims:58.50, mains:86.75 /200(could not clear English cutoff) (attempts:143)
2. IBPS-SO : 85.75 /200(cut-off 112)(attempts:135)
3. RBI GRADEB: 83/200 (cutoff 88.5)(attempts:100)(cud not clear Quant cutoff)
4. IBPS CLERICAL: prelims:78.25(attempts:79),mains:145/200 (CUTOFF 152)(attempts:166)
5. SBI-SO:P.K: 38.25 (CUTOFF:59),rest section cleared
6. SBI-PO:Prelims:48.75,mains:42(disaster score)(attempts:103)
7. BOB MANIPAL:OUT,attempts:134
8. RBI GRB 2016:-Prelims-100, mains:out(final marks yet 2 come)
9. LIC-AAO : 245.50 (CUTOFF:255.75)
10. SBI-CLERICAL: Prelims:83 (attempts:88),mains: IN:)(final marks yet to come)attempts:167
After seeing my roll number in merit list I sat quietly for sometime and my eyes were filled with tears. Then I told my parents about my result, and both congratulated me and we shared some laugh:). First I called my brother (younger) who is doing his MBA and he congratulated me. Finally i want to thank God,father, mother, brother, grandparents, relatives, and spcl friends (Sasmita di, Apurva Sir, Sangeeta, Sweta Padma, Sushree, Kishan, Lopa, Jyothi, Prackarsh, Arvind, Nitesh and many more….) for their love and support throughout my journey.
As the saying goes when Ambition ends, happiness begins…still my ultimate aim is to become PO. As it was a mini-success for me, I am sharing this with all of u guys, and many more miles 2 go…
Just want to say that keep faith in GOD and yourself. Do study passionately and patiently, definitely success will be yours.
“so take a chance and don’t ever look back”
Some lines of my fav. author Robin Sharma:(pg196-Monk who sold his Ferrari)
“Everone on this planet is a wonder of this world. Everyone of us is a hero in some way or another. Every one of us has the potential for extraordinary achievement, happiness and lasting fulfilment. All it takes are small steps in the direction of our dreams. Like the Tajmahal, a life overflowing with wonders is built day by day, block by block. Small victories lead 2 large victories. Tiny, incremental changes and improvements will create positive habits. Positive habits will create results. And results will inspire u towards your greater personal change. Begin 2 live each day as if it was your last.Starting today, learn more, laugh more and do what u truly love to do.Do not be denied your destiny. For what lies behind u and what lies in front of u matters little when compared to what lies within you.”
