Hello Everyone,

I am Praveen Kumar, I am a native of Addanki a small town in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. I graduated in mechanical engineering in 2013.

I have started my preparation in the year 2015 joining a coaching institute in Vijayawada. I regularly used to attend all the classes that are important for my preparation. I only focussed on my weakest areas at that time. I always scored good marks in all the sections except General awareness. I have cleared all the prelims since the prelims and mains exam pattern was introduced but hadn’t been successful in mains.

My very first exam after my preparations was LIC ADO in 2015. I have cleared the mains and attended the interviews and been not finalized as I haven’t had my MBA as they preferred MBA candidates.

In the year 2016, I missed all the exams by just minimal marks. IBPS clerks, PO, RRB clerks, RRB PO.

In 2017, with great efforts, I scored well in RRB PO with the cutoff being 82 and I scored 105 marks but was not in the mains list as I got very little marks in the Interview section. It hurt me a lot that I felt bad for myself feeling very unlucky.

By the time financial situations in my home are not supportive, my father asked me to prepare but I started working for my livings and support my brother for his preparations. I used to apply for all the exams and qualify the prelims and prepare for mains in my free time.

In 2018, I was in the reserve list but after the final reserve list was released, I was again not in. I went into a complete depression where I felt my life is the worst one. I cried and cried feeling that I am a useless son, a burden to my family. Later came out of that bad phase slowly.

Whenever I visit any bank for work and stand in front of the staff over there, I feel that I must have also been there in that position and why couldn’t I..! On seeing any bank board outside when I was on road, I use to see them and smile that I will be in it at any point of time.

Finally, In 2019, My dearest and closest friend Sravanthi suggested me to take a two month leave as she would support me in my preparation. As general awareness is my weakest section I completely focussed on this section purchasing hard copies of The Hindu reviews(Bankersadda), daily current affairs in adda247, and revising them all the time and haven’t prepared any other subject. I practiced some of the mock tests purchasing from Bankersadda.

Of all the years I felt in my mind that this is my life and death year of preparation and attempted the mains exam very carefully leaving the questions I haven’t known and attempt only the questions I am sure about. This year I scored 30 marks in general awareness section making me get a very good final score and Place me into Bank of India as a clerk.

Heartfully saying I must be very thankful to my parents, my brother, My roommates, My friend Sravanthi who stood for me at my tough time and finally Bankersadda without which I couldn’t have scored much in current affairs sections.

Now my fingers got crossed and I am eagerly waiting for the joining process. I also wanted to share something that my friend who supported me all through this toughest phase is the girl whom I wanted to marry and is waiting for her parent’s permission to get married.

Looking forward to having a happy life ahead and work more hard. All my neighbors and relatives started praising me stating that I am the role model to many now. I am feeling sorry for them, that they are the only ones who used to criticize me once I was nothing.
