SBI PO is the most sought after recruitment process by banking aspirants. Group Exercise and Personal Interview is the final round (Phase-III) in SBI PO 2017 Recruitment. Last year SBI introduced a prioritisation based group exercise which is also being conducted this year in the Group Discussion Round. SBI PO Interview Experience on 14/09/17, SBI LHO MUMBAI.
Time:- 8:00 am
After a smooth document verification process, we headed to the conference hall for our GDs. After a session of introduction of the moderators and candidates, we were given the topic
GD Topic- “Should India go for bullet train or not.”
Group Discussion can be a tensed situation for some, but with confidence and clarity of thought, one can easily score in this phase. It is important to maintain the decorum of the session and avoid being too loud. Put forth your views and opinions firmly best backed by figures or facts and also let your fellow group members voice their opinions.
Group Exercise – Qualities of a perfect planner.
Group Exercise is performed after the discussion. In this group, exercise candidates were given a set of few qualities/ attributes/ traits/ parameters which they had to prioritize according to their understanding of the topic/ situation/ thinking ability.

Personal Interview
I was 5th in my group and called for interview @11:30. There was panel of 5 members 3M and 2F. I entered the room, wished gm to everyone.
M1:- Have your seat.
Me:- Thank you, sir.
M1:- So Sarang… Tell me about your strength and weakness
Me:-Told
F1:- So you are afraid of height…so what’s that phobia called….
Me:- I don’t know the answer, madam.
F1:-U should know the answer.
Me:- I’m sorry madam.
M1:- Tell me something about SBI.
Me:-Told.
M1:- Advantages of SBI over other banks?
Me:-Told.
F1:- So you have done engineering in mechanical….Tell me how d an induction motor work?
Me:-(As I was confused) Mam I have read it but I’m not able to recall at this time.
F1:- Oh you can read, write and speak punjabi as well.
Me:- Many of my friends are punjabi ma’am. (she looked impressed…I guess she was a Punjabi)
M2:- Tell me taglines of SBI.
Me:- Told.
M2:-Why are taglines important?
Me:-Told.
M1 interrupted in between
M1-So you are from Nagpur, tell me something special about nagpur.
Me:-Told.
M2 again started
M2:-What is reverse repo?
Me:-Did a blunder mistake…told definition of REPO
M3:-Which deposits are useful for banks?
Me:-Told
M3:- CASA??
Me:-Told
F2:- What is corporate governance?
Me:- Sorry madam I don’t know.
F2:-How banks do their business?
Me:- Told.
F2:-Tell me today’s news?
Me:-Mam I didn’t get time to read today’s news.
F2:-Then tell me yesterday’s news.
Me:-Told.
M1:-Don’t you have a full sleeve shirt??
Me:-I have sir. (Don’t know why he asked this.)
F2:-Have you applied anywhere?
Me:-No ma’am.
They told me to leave…wished me all the best…I wished them back and left the room.
No questions from hobby…everybody had blank expressions so it was difficult to predict…even I fumbled at 2-3 places…but hope for best…..
