Factors To Consider While Choosing Your State
There are many factors which you should be considering before choosing your state for the SBI Clerk 2024 exam. Now we will be discussing all the factors in detail:-
- Number of Vacancies
If the number of vacancies is higher, the competition tends to be slightly lower, as more candidates have a chance to get selected. And when the vacancies are lower in number the competition intensifies. The number of candidates registered is usually similar, but with fewer opportunities available, this means more candidates are competing for the same post. The difficulty level tends to rise in terms of scoring and the cut off marks also increases.
- Home State
Choosing your home state for the SBI Clerk exam offers several advantages. Being familiar with the local language, culture, and region-specific banking practices makes it easier to adapt to the work environment. Staying in your home state eliminates the stress of relocation and allows to have a good work life balance. There is no provision for Inter Circle Transfer/Inter State Transfer when you are recruited so you should keep this in mind while choosing your state.
- Cut Off Trend
When selecting a state for the SBI Clerk Exam, analyzing state wise cut off trends is crucial. Cut off marks vary annually based on factors like exam difficulty, number of vacancies, and candidate performance. For example, in 2023, the Prelims Exam cut-off for the General category ranged from 56.5 to 77 marks across different states. These variations highlight the importance of analyzing state wise cut off trends to understand the competition level.
- Language Proficiency
In the SBI Clerk 2024 selection process, candidates must pass a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) for the local language of their chosen state. This test is conducted after clearing the Main Examination but before joining the bank. If a candidate fails the LPT, they will not be appointed. But the candidates who have studied the local language in their 10th or 12th grade can skip this test by providing relevant mark sheets or certificates. Choosing a state where you are already proficient in the local language can ease your preparation and eliminate the LPT requirement, making it a key factor in your decision.
