In a significant development, the Railway Recruitment Board has announced a substantial increase in the number of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) vacancies to meet the additional demand of various railway zones. Initially, 5696 vacancies were notified through CEN No. 01/2024 (Centralized Employment Notification). This number has now increased to 18,799 vacancies via a notice released on 19 June 2024.
