RRB ALP Exam Date 2024

The RRB ALP 2024 notification for Technician positions announced 9000 vacancies. Applications were accepted from March 9 to April 4, 2024. The computer-based test for the Technician role is scheduled to take place between October and December 2024. The list of candidates shortlisted for document verification will be published in February 2025. What is the RRB ALP Exam Date?

The CBT 1 exam is scheduled between June and August 2024, the exact dates will be announced soon, followed by the CBT 2 exam in September 2024. The RRB ALP document verification shortlist will be announced in November or December 2024.

The RRB ALP notification detailed 5696 vacancies, with the application link open from January 20 to February 19, 2024. Candidates were able to modify their application details, subject to a modification fee, from February 20 to 29, 2024.

What is the Exam Pattern for RRB ALP 2024?

RRB ALP 2024: CBT-I
This stage, applicable to both ALP and Technician positions, is purely qualifying, meaning the scores from this stage will not contribute to the final merit list.

  • The exam consists of 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and must be completed within 60 minutes.
  • Each question is worth one mark, totalling 75 marks for the exam.
  • Incorrect answers incur a penalty of ⅓ mark per wrong answer.

RRB ALP 2024: CBT-II
Candidates who meet the cutoff in the first stage of CBT will advance to the second stage CBT. This stage is divided into two sections: Part A and Part B.

  • Part A consists of 100 questions to be answered in 90 minutes, while Part B includes 75 questions with a 60-minute time limit.
  • Part A of the second stage CBT consists of 100 multiple-choice questions covering topics such as Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering, and General Awareness on Current Affairs.
  • Both parts have a negative marking system, deducting ⅓ mark for each incorrect answer.
  • The scores from Part A are used to shortlist candidates for subsequent selection rounds, whereas Part B is purely qualifying.

RRB ALP 2024: CBAT

  • This stage is exclusively for candidates applying for Assistant Loco Pilots.
  • The question papers are provided in both English and Hindi.
  • There are five test batteries, and candidates must achieve specific scores in each to pass the exam.
  • The total score for this stage is 42 marks.
