Quad Foreign Minister meeting on freedom of navigation in Indo-Pacific region
Foreign Ministers of Quad countries – India, Japan, Australia, and the US, the meeting was held. Dr.S.Jaishankar external affairs minister represented India at the meeting. Foreign ministers discussed the necessity to promote freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific region.
They put emphasis on the importance of their commitment to upholding international orders,
underpinned by respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, rule of law, freedom of navigation, transparency in the international seas, and peaceful resolution of disputes. The Indo- Pacific concept had gathered growing international support, including in Europe. External affairs minister, Dr.S.Jaishankar drew special attention to their shared attributes as political democracies, markets, economies, and pluralistic societies. It is very important for the international community that the direction of changes should remain positive and beneficial to all.
The upholding rule of Law in Myanmar and the democratic transition was reiterated by India.
All other three countries were recognized and appreciated India’s efforts in providing vaccines to 74 countries in the world.
