Prithviraj Tondaiman, Kynan Chenai, and Zoravar Singh Sandhu clinched another gold medal in the men’s trap event, setting a new Games record with their combined score of 361 during the qualifications. This stellar performance allowed them to outshine the silver medalists, Kuwaiti shooters Khaled Almudhaf, Talal Alrashidi, and Abdulrahman Alfaihan, who scored 359. India’s shooters have now amassed an impressive tally of 21 medals at the event, including seven golds. This achievement surpasses their performance in the previous edition of the Asian Games, where they secured nine medals comprising two golds, four silvers, and three bronzes.

In the women’s trap event, the Indian team composed of Rajeshwari Kumari, Manisha Keer, and Preeti Rajak displayed remarkable prowess by securing the silver medal with a total score of 337 points. However, the gold medal was claimed by the dominant Chinese team, who set a new world record with a staggering 356 points. Kazakhstan secured the bronze with a total score of 335 points.

Among the Indian shooters, Manisha delivered a standout performance with an individual score of 114 points, earning her a place in the individual final.
