SBI Clerk Mains 2018 Exam Analysis
Dear Aspirants,
Today (5th August) was the SBI Junior Associate Mains 2018 Examination. This was the second and final phase for the examination of the recruitment of Clerks in SBI in 2018 and here is the complete exam analysis and review of today’s Shift-I of SBI Clerk Mains 2018.
SBI recruitment examinations are renowned as the trendsetter in the banking examination sector and this exam review can help you to get insights on what to expect in other banking exams lined up this year. The order in which sections appeared in the SBI Clerk Mains Exam was- GA, English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude
Overall the level of the examination was Moderate to Difficult.

QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE (Moderate – Difficult)
The level of quantitative aptitude was moderate to difficult. As per the review shared by aspirants who appeared for this exam this section was calculative and time-consuming. There were six sets of DI :
- Caselet- Based on boats and stream, height and distance, permutation and combination
- Bar Graph- Data related to Profit and SP was given
- Pie Chart – Partnership based (3Ques)
- 2 Sets of Tabular DI
- Pie Chart- Data related to countries and percentage was given
Out of these six DIs the Bar Graph, and Pie Chart ones were relatively less time consuming

ENGLISH LANGUAGE (Moderate)
The level of General English Section in the 1st shift of SBI Junior Associate Mains Exam was Moderate. There were three sets of Reading Comprehension (small passages) related to the following themes:
- A passage related to the education system, No question of vocabulary (antonym/synonym) was asked in this RC set and there was a question of phrase replacement
- Second RC passage was based on an article related to typo errors, there was 1 question of vocabulary with this RC set
- The third passage was related to retaining of customers and customer satisfaction, there were a total of 5 questions in this RC set and 1 question was of fillers
Vocabulary based questions were also there in this year’s SBI Clerk Mains 2018 exam. A new pattern was introduced where in a line four words were marked as bold, and among those four only one word did not have any spelling error. Candidates had to identify the correct word and mark its antonym (opposite meaning) word among the given options.

REASONING AND COMPUTER APTITUDE (Difficult)
This section had 50 questions and The level of reasoning was difficult. There were NO questions of computer aptitude. Following were types of puzzles asked in reasoning section of SBI Junior Associate Mains exam:
- Square Seating Arrangement, 8 persons, people seating at corners liked fruits and people seated in the middle liked flowers.
- Direction and distance based puzzle, horses were to be arranged
- Circular Seating Arrangement
- Floor-Cards based puzzle
- Month based Puzzle, 3 months, 3 dates, persons and their weights had to be arranged
- Linear (2 parallel lines) seating arrangement, arrange vehicle facing north and south

GENERAL AWARENESS (Moderate)
This section had 50 questions and a time limit of 35 minutes. Overall the level of this section was Moderate. Most of the questions were from the current affairs of May, June and July. Near about 8-10 questions related to Banking and Financial Awareness were also there and 4-5 questions from static general awareness.
