Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was tragically assassinated in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, by a suicide bomber belonging to the Liberation of Tamil Tigers Eelam (LTTE), a terrorist organization. The devastating incident occurred when a woman, concealing explosives beneath her clothing, approached Rajiv Gandhi and appeared to seek his blessings by bending down to touch his feet. In a horrific turn of events, the bomb detonated, claiming the life of Rajiv Gandhi and causing the loss of approximately 25 other innocent lives.
