Dear Students, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has announced vacancies for the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) lately. The total number of vacant posts this year is 590 and the preliminary examination for the recruitment process is scheduled to be held on 4th & 5th of May 2019. The pattern of LIC AAO prelims exam is akin to the ones of other banking and insurance examinations. The candidates will have to attempt three sections viz. English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability in a specified period of time which is 20 minutes for each of the three sections.

LIC AAO 2019 Prelims Exam Strategy
English Section
- Proper strategy & approach play a crucial role. Follow an effective strategy to solve different problems. In case of reading comprehension, first go through the questions and then read the comprehension to understand the theme of the passage.
- In case of cloze test, first try to understand the theme of the passage by reading multiple times. Then subsequently solve the blanks.
- Solve para jumbles by elimination i.e. deduce the first statement by eliminating different options & examine the remaining options to reach the correct answer.
- Vocabulary gives heebies-jeebies to most of the aspirants. If you are struck in these type of questions then don’t panic. Just analyse the part of the speech and mark the correct option .
- For instance, if we need to find the meaning of mesmerizing assuming we don’t know the actual meaning. Since the word ‘mesmerizing’ is a verb so identify the verb in the given option and mark accordingly.
Last but not the least, don’t panic after seeing long passages or difficult vocabulary words. Positive Attitude with a proper strategy will do wonders.
Quantitative Aptitude Section
- This section needs the maximum of your hard work and travail as the questions asked in this section are calculative and very time-consuming and you will have only 20 minutes for a total of 35 questions.
- The key is to attempt the quizzes on Adda247 App on a regular basis, without skipping a single day.
- In the examination, attempt the questions on Quadratic Equations, Simplification, and Approximation, and Number Series first as you would be able to solve the maximum number of questions within minimum time.
- After having attempted all these questions efficiently, go for Data Interpretation. In every DI 3 questions are always doable and the rest two are a bit tricky and calculative. So, try to attempt at least those 3 questions with accuracy.
- Rest of the questions will be based on arithmetic miscellaneous topics like CI & SI, Time and Work, Pipes, and Cisterns, Partnership, etc. Time will be running short and if you are left with some, then attempt these questions too in the end.
Reasoning Section
- Attempt the maximum number of questions in Reasoning Section in minimum time by attempting the difficult puzzles in the end.
- Start with the questions that are not in the form of puzzles, you can choose to start with questions based on inequalities, direction and distance, syllogism, coding-decoding, alphanumeric series, and other such random topics.
- Then try to start with puzzles that appear easy to be solved and proceed with moderate and difficult puzzles in a similar way.
