March 31 is observed each year as the International Day of Drug Checking. The menace of drugs in our society is well known to all. In order to bring together the anti-drug organizations and give recognition to the hard work they put in to check the supply lines of drugs, International Day of Drug Checking is observed on March 31.
As per WHO or World Health Organisation, approx 11.8 million deaths in 2017 were linked to Drug Abuse. In more recent times the grip of substance abuse is gripping youngsters and more so adolescent teenagers. The International Day of Drug Checking is a collective effort to reduce the incident of Drug abuse and make the world drug-free.
The Drug Supply is also linked to various other organized crimes and syndicate networks. The Taliban in Afghanistan has effectively used Opium trafficking to finance its operations.
