The above mentioned detailed exam analysis of the year 2018 and 2019 is for candidates to get an overview of the important topics that are asked in the question paper, in the prelims exam. Let us discuss the changes that have been observed in the sections of this exam in the past two years so that candidates can prepare themselves accordingly:
- English language section: The level of the English language section was seemingly easier in the year 2019 than in 2018. The number of questions from reading comprehension was increased. Also, topics like Phrase replacement and fill in the blanks held more weight than the previous year. The exam pattern for the English language section remains the same this year too. Candidates should focus on the topics which held more weightage in the year 2019 than 2018 as there are chances that those topics will hold equal or more weightage of marks/questions this year too.
- Quantitative aptitude section: The number of questions from arithmetic topic was twice in the year 2019 that in the year 2018. This means that now arithmetic is one of the most important topics that every candidate must focus on as it carries more weightage of marks and questions now. The exam pattern of the quantitative aptitude section remains the same this year which means that there are chances that arithmetic will hold an equal or more amount of weightage than the year 2019.
- Reasoning ability: The number of questions from the coding-decoding topic was increased in the year 2019. Puzzles and seating arrangement topics also saw an increment in terms no. of questions in the year 2019 than 2018. Questions from syllogism were asked in 2019. As the exam pattern remains the same this year too there are chances that the topics which held more weightage in the year 2019 than in the year 2018 are likely to appear and carry an equal or more amount of weightage in the year 2020 as well.
Candidates are advised to prepare for the above important topics with excellence and secure their chance of scoring maximum in the SBI PO Prelims Examination 2020.
