IBPS SO Prelims is scheduled to be held on 28th and 29th January 2019. As the exam approaching shortly we are here with some important time management tips for IBPS SO Prelims exam. We all know, time is the important factor in any competitive exam. As always mentioned one should be always exam ready with time, speed and accuracy in banking exam. Time given to complete the exam paper is less, but students have to attempt a number of question paper to complete the task. In this article we will discuss about the time management tips for different post in IBPS SO Prelims exam. Aspirants should keep in mind that there is negative marking for every wrong answer as a penalty. So make sure you do not mark answers on random guessing to avoid chances of loosing marks. Below are some IBPS SO Officer time management tips.
Time taking questions should be attempted in the last. Start with the doable and easy questions but keep a check on speed and accuracy as you can not go wrong with speeding up. Time Management Tips For IBPS SO Prelims 2019
- Make a strategy and attempt easy questions in the beginning. This will save your time.
- Go through the question carefully, if it seems doable to you attempt it, otherwise move on to next questions. You have lot more to attempt.
- Attempt those questions in the starting you are very good at.
- Do not waste more than a minute in reading and solving a question unless it is tricky & lengthy.
- Do not attempt lengthy and difficult question in the starting. This will consume all your time.
- Practice more to improve speed.
- Understand your strengths and weaknesses to solve better.
- Recognize your strong areas, and work on your weak points.
- Devote maximum time for Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude, as these are more difficult.
Subject-Wise Time Management Tips For IBPS SO Exam
Reasoning section –This section is considered to be the most back breaking section. Reasoning ability test your mental ability. Most of the candidates fail to clear this section due to complex puzzles and tricky question. But, practice can help you to understand and solve even the most difficult question.

Make sure whatever you attempt is accurate. Along with the Time management accuracy is important. Do not mark answers on random guessing just to incrase your attempted score. This will ruin your accuracy.
English Language Section- This is the most dreaded subject in the banking examination. This is the most error prone section for aspirants. There will be a total of 50 questions to be completed in 40 minutes for all post. Attempt the easy question in the starting. Do not feel puzzled. If you are good at reading you can start with the Reading comprehension or else go with the grammar part.

Quantitative Aptitude section-This is the most complex and difficult section when it comes to banking examination and the ineluctable hitch to clear bank exams. It include tricky calculation and equation that demands time and mental strength. There will be 50 questions to be solved in 40 minutes in the Post of IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer. If you are very good at this section it would be no challenge for you to solve at least 45 question. But, if you are a layman this would be a challenging task. Try to save and utilize few minutes to review your answers.

General Awareness Section- This section has to be attempted by those who are appearing from Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari post. GA section does not demand critical thinking and complex equations to be solved. If you have brushed up your knowledge on current affairs, you will do good in this section. Try to solve direct questions within minutes so that you will have some time to recall other things as well.
Note: Students have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS Only. Also, IBPS has introduced sectional timing (last year)of 40 Minutes for each section, thus this time, time management needs special attention to clear the cut off.
