RRB today released it’s notification for recruitment of various post. RRB’s recruitment of Group “A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistants (Multipurpose) will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) tentatively between August and October 2018.
☛ What are the posts available under this recruitment project for freshers?

The Tentative dates for Preliminary Exams are expected to be on Officer Scale-I – 11.08.2018, 12.08.2018 and 18.08.2018 (if required) and Office Assistant- 19.08.2018, 25.08.2018 & 01.09.2018

No, the pattern of the examination is same as last year.
☛ How many vacancies are there?
The number of vacancies is for Office Assistant 5249 and for Officer Grade-I 3312.
☛ Will there be any interview after the written result?
Yes, there will be interview process only for Officers Grade-I which will tentatively take place in November 2018. There is No Interview for Office Assistants.
☛ Will the exam be conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?
Common Written Exam for RRB is being conducted by IBPS in online mode for both Prelims and Mains exams.
☛ What is the age criteria to apply for this common written exam?
For Officer Scale- I (Assistant Manager)- Above 18 years – Below 30 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1988 and later than 31.05.2000 (both dates inclusive)
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) – Between 18 years and 28 years i.e. candidates should have not been born earlier than 02.06.1990 and later than 01.06.2000 (both dates inclusive)

☛ I have given my final year graduation exams but the result has not been declared yet. Can I apply?
All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognized by Govt. Of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the result should have been declared on or before 02.07.2018. Proper document from Board / University for having declared the result on or before 02.07.2018 has to be submitted at the time of interview for the posts of Officers (Scale I, II and III) and at the time of joining for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose).
☛ What is the Application Fee?
Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
Rs. 600 /- for all others
☛ When will the registration start?
Registration will start from 08.06.2018 and will end on 02.07.2018.
☛ I have scored 55% in Graduation. Am I eligible to sit for the exam?
Yes, you can apply as there is no percentage criterion. You just need to be a graduate.
☛ I am 19 years old. Can I sit for the exam?
Yes, You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for both the posts of Officer Scale-I and Office Assistants.
☛ How to calculate the Percentage?
The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the
candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks (in all the subjects irrespective of honors/optional/additional optional subject, if any) and multiplying by 100. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

☛ Is the exam Bilingual?
The tests except for the Test of English Language/Hindi Language in Mains exam all others will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
☛ What is the cut-off for being recruited?
There is no fixed cut-off. It depends on the performance of the candidates each year. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Mains Examination and also a minimum total score to be considered for further process.
☛ Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?
Yes, there is a sectional cut-off in the exam. You have to clear every section.
☛ I have cleared the overall cutoff of the exam. However, I could not clear the cutoff for the general awareness section. Am I still eligible?
Unfortunately, you are not eligible to move to the interview stage. You must clear the cutoff for each section individually and the overall cutoff as well.
☛ Is there a criterion for negative marking?
There is negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer.
☛ Should I be careful while selecting the region?
Yes, as you should be proficient in that region’s regional language and you might have to undergo a language proficiency test in the selection procedure.
