The IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern features a time-constrained assessment aimed at evaluating candidates’ proficiency. It only lasts for 45 minutes and has 80 questions multiple-choice questions across sections like Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability. Each correct answer usually carries one mark, while there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect response. To qualify for the next stage of the examination, candidates must clear both the sectional and overall cut-offs.
IBPS RRB Clerk Mains Exam Pattern
In the IBPS RRB Clerk mains exam, candidates will have to score a total of 200 questions across 5 sections, with each section containing 40 questions. They will be allotted a composite time of 2 hours to complete the entire examination. It’s important to note that for each incorrect answer, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks. Therefore, candidates need to manage their time effectively, maintain accuracy, and strategize their approach to maximize their performance and minimize negative marking.

There is a single examination for Officer Scale III, and after qualifying it candidates will be eligible for the interview round. The single exam comprises of 5 papers including a total of 200 questions for a maximum of 200 marks and to solve them aspirants will be allotted a time duration of 2 Hours.

IBPS RRB Interview Process
Candidates who have successfully cleared the mains examination for the positions of Officers Scale I, II, and III will be invited to attend an interview. This interview will be organized by the Nodal Regional Rural Bank in collaboration with NABARD and will take place at selected centres. The interview carries a total of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks for the interview will be in accordance with the existing guidelines set by the authorities.
