RRB yesterday released it’s notification for recruitment of various post. RRB’s recruitment of Group “A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistants (Multipurpose) will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) tentatively in November and December 2016.
☛ What are the posts available under this recruitment project for freshers?
The post which will be available in this recruitment project are Office Assistant(Multipurpose) and Officer Scale I.
☛ When will be the exam conducted?
The Tentative dates for Preliminary Exams are expected to be on: Officer Scale-I – 05 & 06.11.2016 and Office Assistant- 12, 13 & 19.11.2016
The Tentative dates for Mains Examination are: Officers (I, II & III) – 11.12.2016 and Office Assistant – 18.12.2016

☛ What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?
For Officer Scale-I: Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.09.1986 and later than 31.08.1998 (both dates inclusive).
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Candidates should have not been born earlier
than 02.09.1988 and later than 01.09.1998 (both dates inclusive).
☛ What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?
For Office Assistants(Multipurpose): Graduate from a recognized University or its equivalent and Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRBs along with desirable knowledge of Computer skills.
For Officer Scale-I: Graduate from a recognized University or its equivalent (Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy) and Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRBs along with desirable knowledge of Computer skills.
☛ I have given my final year graduation exams but the result has not been declared yet. Can I apply?
All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognised by Govt. Of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the result should have been declared on or before
30.09.2016. Proper document from Board / University for having declared the result on or before 30.09.2016 has to be submitted at the time of interview for the posts of Officers (Scale I, II and III) and at the time of joining for the post of Office Assistants (Multipurpose).
☛ What is the application Fee?
Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
Rs. 600 /- for all others
☛ When will the registration start?
Registration will start from 14.09.2016 and will end on 30.09.2016
☛ I have scored 55% in Graduation. Am I eligible to sit for the exam?
Yes, you can apply as there is no percentage criterion. You just need to be a graduate.
☛ I am 19 years old. Can I sit for the exam?
Yes, You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for both the posts of Officer Scale-I and Office Assistants.
☛ How to calculate the Percentage?
The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours / optional / additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%

☛ Is the exam Bilingual?
The tests except the Test of English Language in Mains exam all others will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
☛ What is the cut-off for being recruited?
There is no fixed cut-off. It depends on the performance of the candidates each year. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Mains Examination and also a minimum total score to be considered for further process.
☛ Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?
Yes, there is a sectional cut-off in the exam. You have to clear every section.
☛ I have cleared the overall cutoff of the exam. However, I could not clear the cutoff for the general awareness section. Am I still eligible?
Unfortunately, you are not eligible to move to the interview stage. You must clear the cutoff for each section individually and the overall cutoff as well.
☛ Is there a criterion for negative marking?
There is negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer.
☛ Should I be careful while selecting the region?
Yes, as you should be proficient in that region’s regional language and you might have to undergo a language proficiency test in selection procedure.
