I am a 2015 graduate in Mechanical Engineering. I got campus placement in an organization where I worked for almost 1.5 years. My inclination towards govt. sector especially the Banking industry persuaded me to prepare for IBPS exams. I engrossed myself in IBPS preparation but was having hard time in the quest for good study content. I followed several books but the output was not much as was desired. One day I searched “Approximation” topic on YouTube and came across Adda 247 channel where Sumit sir explained some really tricky questions dexterously. I immediately subscribed Adda 247 channel and was fascinated by the pragmatic content.
Now the notification for IBPS was out for the year 2017-2018. I purchased ADDA BANK PRIME Test Series and started taking mocks religiously. I was having tough time initially but later on, I got accustomed to the time management and appeared for IBPS RRB PO and IBPS RRB Clerk pre and by god grace, I cleared both of them. It was time to face the real challenge that was the Mains exam. There was hardly a month to prepare for mains. I gave more attention to GA section and could not do justice to other sections thus, could not clear mains.
It was time for IBPS PO and Clerk 2017-2018 again I got through the pre but this time I planned differently. I took the Mains exam mock daily and analyzed all the sections religiously. I cleared IBPS PO Mains but I knew my attempts were very less. I appeared for the interview and fetched good marks but on 1st April 2018 when final results were declared, I missed the final selection. I was shattered, distressed and literally cried but only for couple of days. I was back on the track and enjoyed my preparation phase because I had a routine. The Hindu Editorial show, the BBM show by Kush sir, Radhey ki Reasoning, Anchal Ma’am English classes, and Sumit Sir’s DI classes kept me going.
Now it was the 2018-2019 recruitment year. The exams I appeared in were:
SBI PO – out my less margin
SBI CLERK- out in mains
NIACL Assistant – reached till Language proficiency test but missed in merit list
IBPS RRB PO – out in mains
IBPS RRB CLERK – got final selection in Gramin Bank of Aryavart
IBPS CLERK – did not appeared for mains
IBPS PO 2018-2019 was what I had my eye on. I got through the pre but I knew that I had to take lead in mains to get my name in final merit so I made sure to extract maximum from the Bank prime test series, Sunday challenges hosted by Bankersadda, various quizzes on the official Adda app, and the ‘Brahmastra’ of GA section i.e. GA Power Capsule.
The exam level was difficult but my experience and accuracy helped me to sail through once again. For the interview, I followed Interview cracker e-book by Adda. My interview was highly professional and the best I could deliver. The scorecards were out and the cut off dipped to 74.5/225 for UR category and I scored 87/225 thereby taking a lead of 12.5 marks. 1st April 2019 became the most memorable day of my life. It was a dream come the true moment when I saw the result with my parents standing beside me. I was allotted my 1st preference i.e. UNION BANK of INDIA as a Probationary Officer.
I am thankful to BANKERSADDA for the pragmatic content which was at par with the real exam. I could not find anything better. I am thankful to my parents for the endless support, my brother Amar for always encouraging me, my best friends Nikhil and Atin for always cheering me. Special thanks to Atul who was my fellow mate during the preparation phase. At last, I would like to conclude by saying that “All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.”
