Date: 31-01-18
Time: 1pm
Venue: IOB Head Office, Chennai

Reached the venue at 12.30pm. They called us for biometric verification followed by document verification. Then waited for my turn for interview. At 3.30pm I went in.

5 members; F1, M1, M2, M3, M4

Entered in.. Greeted them.. Sat down..

M1: Prasanna, tell me about yourself
Me: Told

M1: Why did u quit your job? ( I have work experience)
Me: To prepare for civil services

M2: Then why IBPS now?
Me: Already given few attempts, no success; financial constraints (married), age (29) (explained)

M1: Is this your 4th attempt?
Me: yes sir.

M1: Why took so long being an engineering graduate (NIT alumni)
Me: I have cleared in the first attempt itself sir, was preparing for CSE, so didn’t join

M1: So, u must regret your decision now
Me: no sir. Not even 1%

M1, M2, M3: there must be some regret about joining in the first attempt itself
Me: No sir. When I turn 50 or 55, looking back, I would consider myself that at least I have given a try. Had I joined bank, then only I would regret that I didn’t even give a try.

M1: positive way of looking.. good

M1: why tomorrow is a big day?
Me: The budget day

M1: Tell me few points in the economic survey
Me: Explained about GST stabilization, Air India privatisation, Focus on agriculture and job creation

M2: what is start up India scheme?
Me: Explained

M2: Why this scheme was launched?
Me: Explained

M2: Why start-ups getting failed?
Me: explained about need should trigger the idea, financial constraints, strategies etc

M2 to M1: Ask about banking

M1: What is DRT
Me: don’t know sir

M1: D for debt
Me: is it debt recovery tribunal?

M1: yes. Explain about it?
Me: I don’t know sir, but can I try a guess?

M1: yes. Go ahead
Me: tribunal means judicial authority, so a legal system to recover loans

M1: good.. you can go.. good luck..
Me: Thank you sir. Have a nice day.

Overall it was a good experience, 3 members were completely silent.. still I made eye contact with everyone. They were friendly and helpful. Good luck for everyone
