IBPS released the notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officers recently and the tentative dates for the exam to be conducted fall in the month of October. So students, you still have enormous time to prepare for this exam and all that one needs to do to ace the grades in Quantitative Section of this exam is practice mixed with an integrated strategy to attempt maximum questions with a high accuracy. The level of every other section is only getting complex and convoluted, there is no doubt that this section too will be making your blood run cold. But one should not forget that a mix of accuracy and a good number of attempts can definitely turn the situation round in Quantitative Aptitude Section. Here is the strategy to score good marks in Quantitative Aptitude Section of IBPS PO Exam 2018.
The total number of questions asked in this Section in IBPS PO Prelims Examination will be 35. The trick to make the grade in Quantitative Aptitude Section is pretty easy. Choose to attempt the questions on Quadratic Equations/ Inequalities (Quantity 1, Quantity 2), Simplification/ Data Sufficiency/ Approximation, and Number Series first. The total number of questions based on these topics will be 10-15. If we talk about the previous year Examination of IBPS PO Prelims Exam, there were 5-6 questions on the topics like Number Series, Quadratic Equations, Simplification, Approximation, etc.
If we talk about this year’s SBI PO and RRB PO Examinations, questions based on Data Sufficiency and Quantity 1 and Quantity 2 too were asked. This took everyone by surprise as these questions were never seen in any Preliminary level examination previously. After having attempted all these questions efficiently, go for Data Interpretation/ Caselet. There were 12 DI questions in the previous year IBPS PO Prelims Examination so we can expect 10-15 questions on DI this year. There is a possibility that a Caselet can be asked along with 2 DI’s as it is being asked in the preliminary stage of many banking examinations this year.
Attempt questions based on Arithmetic in the end. There were a total number of 12-15 questions from miscellaneous topics in IBPS PO Prelims Exam 2017, so, we can expect 10-15 questions from this part this year, out of which, at least 6 questions from Arithmetic Section will be doable.
Students, Quantitative Aptitude is a section that can scare you out of your wits but do not forget that it can prove to be very scoring as well. Stay positive as once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you will see positive results. The only way to score good marks in the section is strenuous practice. Work hard and things will come up roses in the end.
