In a major update for the Indian banking sector, the designation “Clerk” is set to be replaced. According to a notice published by IBPS on its official website, @ibps.in, the Competent Authority has approved a nomenclature change for the Clerical Cadre in Public Sector Banks. The new designation, “Customer Service Associate” (CSA) is effective from 01 April 2024.
The change aligns with the ongoing Common Recruitment Process for Clerks (CRP CLERKS-XIV) issued on 01 July 2024, and will now be referred to as CRP-CSA-XIV[Common Recruitment Process for recruitment of Customer Service Associates(CSA)]. All terms and conditions of the original notification remain the same and any further updates will be posted on the IBPS website, www.ibps.in.
