How to Prepare for AICOIL Administrative Officer Exam 2017 |_2.1

Students, another opportunity in the banking and insurance sector is out as the AGRICULTURE INSURANCE COMPANY OF INDIA LIMITED has released the notification for the recruitment of Administrative Officer for the year 2017-18. All the aspirants who are preparing for the banking and insurance exams must be all set to prepare for the same. As many days are not left for the examination to be conducted, it’s high time to give your preparation the final touch that it needs. This article is specially prepared for the aspirants who are going to appear for the Prelims Examination of AICOIL that is scheduled to be conducted on 18th/19th of November.

If we talk about the banking examinations, the pattern of this year’s examinations has shown drastic variations when compared to the previous year examinations. The questions being asked are getting more and more complex and convoluted this year. Hardly 19 days are left for your preparations, jump on the bandwagon and hit while the iron is hot.
As you are left with a limited time of hardly 19 days, make a strict study plan first and give most of your everyday hours to studies only. Such a timetable would help you complete the target on time. Making a timetable inculcates a sense of discipline; the aspirant is bound to give a certain amount of time to a particular subject or topic. Start revising all the topics that you are done with.
Second, keep assessing your progress from time to time. Online test series play a significant role in one’s preparation for any online examination these days. The questions being asked are so complex and convoluted that unless you are familiar with pattern and difficulty level of such tests, you are not actually ready to face the examination.

Quantitative Aptitude

The best way to score maximum marks in Quantitative Aptitude Section is to attempt the questions on Quadratic Equations, Simplification and Approximation first and then going for Number Series. After having attempted all these questions efficiently, go for Data Interpretation. In every DI 3 questions are always doable and the rest two are a bit tricky and calculative. The remaining few questions will be based on miscellaneous topics like CI & SI, Time and Work, Pipes and Cisterns, Partnership, etc. Practice continuously, it will pay big time.

Reasoning Ability

The trick to attempt the maximum number of questions in Reasoning Section in minimum time is to attempt the difficult puzzles in the end. Start with the questions that are not in the form of puzzles, you can choose to start with questions based on inequalities, direction and distance, syllogism, coding-decoding, alphanumeric series, and other random topics. Then try to start with puzzles that appear easy to be solved and proceed with moderate and difficult puzzles in a similar way. So, this is how you have to manage to attempt this section.

English Language

The trick to scoring in English section can vary from one person to another depending on his/her strengths and weaknesses. If you are good at vocab and reading then attempt the reading comprehension first and proceed with Cloze Test and other miscellaneous topics like Error Detection, Para Jumbles, Phrase Replacement, Double Fillers, etc. But if you are good at grammar, attempt Reading Comprehension in the end. The Reading comprehension too should be attempted in a way that you attempt questions based on vocab and phrases first and then the questions that need a deep penetration through the paragraphs. The important topics for cloze test are subject-verb agreement, preposition and verbs. These topics may help you some other questions too that will be based on grammar. So make sure that you have these topics at your fingertips when you are to attempt the examination.

General Awareness

So much is happening every day that unless you keep yourself abreast of these changes you cannot adjust yourself to them or tackle the GA section of any exam smoothly and easily. A busy person hardly gets the time to read everything that it contains. This is why, to save your precious time, we provide you with an alternative that is our “Daily GK Update” (Available in both Hindi and English languages) that contains only the news that is important from the point of view of competitive examinations. It contains all the news that is likely to be asked in the AICOIL Examinations. Also, prepare static awareness, questions on Agriculture, Botany, and Flora and Fauna as the organization is related to the banking sector. You can go through the Monthly Capsules provided by us for both Current Affairs as well as Banking Awareness and Insurance, as only 19 days are left for the examination.

Descriptive Test

The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted online. All candidates are supposed to obtain a minimum score for each section of objective test separately for getting shortlisted for the Descriptive test evaluation/Interview. The descriptive test would be conducted after the objective test. This Test is of 30 minutes duration and of 30 marks. Writing skills are an important part of communication and Descriptive Test (of English Language) will test your writing skills, understanding, analyzing and summarising skills. Candidates are tested for English Language (Letter Writing, Essay Writing, and Preci). One has to put forward the best and the necessary points about the topic that has been asked in a limited number of words. So, try not to mention the points that are useless from the point of a competitive examination as you will only be wasting your words.
