How To Crack IDBI Executive Exam 2018

Dear Students, the registrations for IDBI Executive 2018 Examinations have already been done and the examination will be held on 28th of April 2018. With the release of vacancy for the post of IDBI Executives, it has become easier for banking candidates under the age of 25 to grab a job in public sector bank. We say its easier for these candidates because those who have already crossed the age 25 are already out of the competition, there is only one phase of the examination, and, there is no General Awareness Section in this examination. So students, it’s an opportunity for you all and a blend of opportunity and hard work leads to success. Get to the work to prepare for the examination right away as you are only left with one and a half month to prepare for the examination. 

The examination for the post of IDBI Executive Officers will be conducted online and will comprise of mainly three sections: Reasoning, English Language, and Quantitative Aptitude. The duration of the examination will be 90 minutes and each section will comprise of 50 questions that will carry 1 mark each. Here is the complete structure of examination:

Now, we will be discussing section wise strategies for all the three sections that will be asked in the examination:

English Language

It depends on one’s strengths and weaknesses to score in English Section. If you are good at vocab and reading then attempt the reading comprehension first and proceed with Cloze Test and other miscellaneous topics like Error Detection, Para Jumbles, Phrase Replacement, Double Fillers, etc. But if you are good at grammar, attempt Reading Comprehension in the end. The Reading comprehension too should be attempted in a way that you attempt questions based on vocab and phrases first and then the questions that need a deep penetration through the paragraphs. The important topics for cloze test are subject-verb agreement, preposition, and verbs. These topics may help you with some other questions too that will be based on grammar. So, make sure that you have these topics at your fingertips when you are to attempt the examination. This section should be finished within a time limit of 20 minutes.

Reasoning Ability

Attempt the maximum number of questions in Reasoning Section in minimum time by attempting the difficult puzzles in the end. Start with the questions that are not in the form of puzzles, you can choose to start with questions based on inequalities, direction and distance, syllogism, coding-decoding, alphanumeric series, and other random topics. Then try to start with puzzles that appear easy to be solved and proceed with moderate and difficult puzzles in a similar way. So, this is how you have to manage to attempt this section. Make sure that the time that you spend on solving this section doesn’t exceed 30 minutes.

Quantitative Aptitude

This is the only section that lets you attempt the maximum number of questions with the highest accuracy. So, to score marks in Quantitative Aptitude Section one should attempt the questions on Quadratic Equations, Simplification and Approximation first and then going for Number Series. After having attempted all these questions efficiently, go for the questions on Data Interpretation. In every DI 3-4 questions are always doable and the rest two are a bit tricky and calculative. The remaining few questions will be based on miscellaneous topics like CI & SI, Time and Work, Pipes, and Cisterns, Partnership, etc. The average time to be spent on this section should be 40 minutes. Practice continuously, it will pay big time.

Plan your studies as per your strengths and weaknesses. Set extra time for the subjects or topics you are weak at. Keep revising the topics from time to time because once left untouched, they can be forgotten too. Taking regular section-wise as well as full length mocks is a must as it helps you work on the speed and accuracy you attempt the examination with. Mere going through the strategy won’t do, you will have to work in accordance with it to bring the house down. All the best.
