How can I become an RBI assistant manager: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must check and fulfill the eligibility criteria give below failing to which selection can be hindered in later stage.
I. Nationality
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African
countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia
and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
II. Age Limit
- A candidate must be between 21 to 30 years of age as on 1st January of the year in which notification is released.
- For M.Phil. and Ph.D. candidates upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years respectively.

III. Minimum Educational Qualification for RBI Grade B(DR)-(General)
- Graduation in any discipline /Equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or,
- Post-Graduation /Equivalent technical qualification with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters / years.
Note:
- Any full time course of minimum 3 years that is taken after XII standard from a recognized university/candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognized by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical graduation will be eligible for examination.
- Candidates who have passed the Final Examination for Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India may also apply for the post.
OR
- Any such full-time course from a recognized University that is taken after graduation and is at least of 2 years’ duration will be eligible for the examination.
IV. No. of Attempts
- For General candidates, maximum 6 attempts for the post.
- No limit on number of attempts for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD.
How can I become an RBI assistant manager: Selection Process
In order to clear RBI Grade B examination a candidate has to go through 3 phases.
- Phase I: Online objective type examination of 200 marks for a duration of 2 hours.
- Phase II: Candidates who clear the cut off for Phase I are called for Phase II. This is also a completely online examination consisting of Objective type as well as descriptive type questions. Phase II examination is for a total of 300 marks.
- Phase III: Candidates clearing the cut off for phase II examination are called for Personal Interview of 75 marks.
Note: Final merit list is formed by combining Phase II and Phase III marks.
