These three categories of holidays can be explained as given below:
Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act- This simply means that if the maturity of an instrument is on the date of the holidays under negotiable instrument, the date preceding it will be considered the date of maturity in that case.
Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday- This refers to the holidays that comes under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement and on these days the service of RTGs is not available.
Banks’ Closing of Accounts- 1st April is considered as the Annual Bank’s closing of Accounts and hence banks observe holiday on this day.
