Subhadip Sarkar,
Category-GENERAL (IBPS RRB PO, West Bengal, Selected in Paschim Banga Gramin Bank)

Hello friends. I am Subhadip Sarkar from a small town Arambagh in Hooghly district, West Bengal. I completed my B.Sc.(Hons.) in Mathematics from Jadavpur University in 2014. In my 3rd year, I sat for an exam for group-C Clerk’s conducted by West Bengal Staff Selection Commission. This was my 1st job exam. I got selected and joined the service on Sept. 2015 as a clerical cadre under Dept. of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of W.B.in Arambagh S.D. Hospital. At that time I decided to sit for Bank and Central Govt. Exams. I gave 2 preliminary exams for bank’s while in service but failed. Then I decided to leave the job and fully concentrate on Bank Exam’s preparation. I left the job in April 2016, after 6 months of service and moved again to Jadavpur and joined Career Power, Moulali Centre. From there I got a lot of help by learning many new methods of problem-solving. Also all the sirs’, especially Vijay Ram sirs’ motivational speeches used to inspire me a lot.

After a few months of classroom coaching the 1st exam came, SBI Clerk Prelims. I cleared that one. But failed in the Mains exam came. By September the coaching class was over. I then fully concentrated on self-study and self-assessment. But 2016 was a nightmare to me. I was unable to attend the SBI PO Prelims exam for a road blockage in the route to the center. I sat for RRB PO & Clerk, IBPS Clerk but was out in prelims for a fraction of marks, but that doesn’t matter, basically I failed. Also failed in Syndicate Bank PGDBF, BOB PGDBF 2016, Bank of Maharashtra PGDBF. The only exam I was able to clear in 2016 is IBPS PO Prelims and also cleared the IBPS PO Mains but with only 6 marks more than the cut-off. In final result, I was out. As the number of failures increased, the level of frustration increased. It became harder to face the relatives as they used to question about job. I started to avoid some family programmes. At the time of IBPS PO Mains 2016 I realized that it is not that old banking pattern and started preparing with more concentration on the basics. I used to give speed tests regularly from career power’s all-rounder test series, be it a sectional test or a preliminary or a mains full-length test, and used to review my faults regularly and focus much on that part. I got call for interview after clearing BOB PGDBF 2017 but failed. But my scores improved. Also cleared SBI PO 2017 prelims but failed in Mains. And then the golden time came. The exams which I have cleared in 2017 are :

1. BOB PGDBF 2017- Cleared mains with 132.5, GD+Interview-73, not selected.
2. SBI PO 2017 – Failed in Mains. Got 48.63, cut off-50.
3. IBPS RRB PO VI 2017 – Got selected in Paschim Banga Gramin Bank. Cleared mains with 92.88 (Cut off for WB-70.75), Interview-65; Final Weighted Score for selection – 50.15 (Cut off- 45.98)
4. IBPS RRB Clerk VI 2017- Out in Prelims
5. OICL AO 2017- Cleared Mains and will appear for interview.
6. IBPS PO VII 2017 – Cleared Mains and appeared for Interview.
7. IBPS CLERK VII 2017-18 – Appeared for Mains. Attempted 128.
8. SSC CGL 2017 – Cleared Tier 1 with 153.50 marks. Will appear for Tier 2.
9. West Bengal Upper-Primary TET 2015 – Passed with 115 marks out of 150. But I don’t have B.Ed. and cases are pending with this exam.
