Hindi Divas 2020: In India, every year on 14th September, Indians celebrate Hindi Divas to remember the day when Hindi was written in Devanagari script and was adopted as the official language of the Republic of India in 1949. History of Hindi Divas
In 1918, during a Hindi Literary Festival, Mahatma Gandhi declared Hindi as the National Language of India. On September 14, 1949, the Constituent Assembly collectively decided that Hindi would be India’s Mother tounge. Hindi Divas was first time celebrated on September 14, 1953. Under Section 343 (1) Chapter 17 of Indian Constitution announces that the official language of the Federation will be Hindi onwards. Hindi Diwas is celebrated to encourage the importance of Hindi language which is losing its importance in the country day by day. After this statement of the Indian Constitution, Hindi Divas began to be celebrated officially from the year of 1953. As per the reports, nearly 800 million peoples across the world uses Hindi as their primary language and around 150 universities around the world offer courses in the Hindi.

The Hindi Divas is mostly celebrated in schools, colleges, and Government offices to emphasis the importance of Hindi Language among the people around. At schools and college level, this day is celebrated with the commencement of Hindi debate, poem or storytelling competitions among the students. Cultural programs are also performed and the teachers dictate speech to emphasize the importance of the Hindi language. It is also observed at the national level, the president of India honor the people who have gained excellence in any field about the Hindi language.
