Happy Diwali 2022 Wishes By Bankersadda team: Diwali, or the Festival of Lights, is one of the most important celebrations in India. It is the most widely observed religious and cultural occasion in India, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and the triumph of light over darkness. This Festival of Lights promotes creative expression via energetic performances, distinctive exhibitions, and beautiful decorations.
Diwali Celebration
According to the ancient calendar, Diwali is celebrated annually on the Amavasya (or new moon), which falls on the fifteenth day of Kartik month. Its celebration includes good food, fireworks, colored sand, and special candles and lamps. Diyas are lit during the festival and placed in rows along the parapets of temples and homes, as well as left free on rivers and streams. Rangoli, which are intricate patterns formed of colored rice, sand, or flower petals, are used to decorate homes and cover floors both inside and outside. Doors and windows of houses are left open in the hope that Lakshmi will enter and bless the people with money and success.
Diwali in different regions of India
Diwali celebrations vary depending on geography and culture. The most popular Hindu tradition involves lighting diyas on the night of the new moon to summon the goddess of wealth Lakshmi. The goddess Kali is worshipped in Bengal. In North India, the festival celebrates Rama’s triumph over Ravana, the 10-headed ruler of the demons, and his return to the city of Ayodhya with Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman. In South India, the festival marks Krishna’s victory over the demon Narakasura. Diwali is remembered by some as the anniversary of Lakshmi and Vishnu’s union, while it is observed by others as Lakshmi’s birthday.
