Government extends ban on International flights

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Aviation Regulator has extended the
suspension of all commercial international passenger flights till March 31 st. Scheduled International flight operations were suspended from March 23 rd last year in the wake of the Covid-19 Pandemic in the country. DGCA said it might be allowed some international flights on selected routes on case to case basis, even the suspension or any restriction will not apply on cargo flights and some pre-approved specified flights. International flights which are under Vande Bharat Mission since last year would also not be restricted. India did air bubble pacts with several countries including the US, the UK, the UAE, Kenya, Bhutan, France, Nepal, Japan, Qatar, and many more. Under this ‘air bubble’ pact, special international flights can be operated by their airlines between their territories. This decision made to prevent early-stage infections of Covid-19. Globally we are seeing that] covid-19 cases are rising day by day, some countries with high infection ratio have imposed many restrictions and even lockdown in their countries.
