41,177 Vacancy Out at Public Sector Banks: Good news for all the candidates who are preparing for the banking examination has been announced. On 13th December 2021, Monday, the Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman has said that a total number of 41,177 posts are vacant in the Public Sector Banks as of 1st December 2021. She informed this in a written reply, that there are around 8,05,986 sanctioned posts and amongst which 41,177 posts are vacant in Public Sector Banks. These vacant posts are a total of 5% of sanctioned posts that are vacant in the Public Sector Banks as of 1st December 2021. There are more than 8,05,986 sanctioned positions at Public Sector Banks (PSBs), and amongst which a total number of 41,177 vacancies are vacant. This is a  great opportunity for all the candidates who are aiming for the banking sector. In a reply, the minister stated that more than as of December 1, this year, ’95 percent of the staff is in position against the sanctioned staff strength, adding that the small proportion of vacancies is substantially attributable to attrition on account of superannuation and other usual factors’.

The SBI has a number of vacancies that are vacant as of December 1, 2021, at the State Bank of India a total number of 3,423 are the posts that are vacant for the post of officers and 5,121 vacancies are vacant at the clerk level.

The Finance Minister also said that “no post/vacancy has been abolished during the last six years in the PSBs, except one post in Punjab & Sind Bank in 2016”. In addition to this, Banks undertake staff recruitment to fill vacancies on an ongoing basis as per their requirement, she added.
