GA Topper Series: PIB Gist : Ministry Of Panchayti Raj

The following article is a compilation of the important facts shared by the Ministry of Panchayti Raj on the PIB website.

1.Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Shri Kapil Moreshwar Patil inaugurated a three-day National Write-Shop on ‘Roadmap and Plan of Action on Localisation of Sustainable Development Goals in Panchayati Raj Institutions’(PRI)

The focus of revamped RGSA scheme is on re-imagining PRIs as vibrant centres of local self-governance and economic growth with special focus on localization of SDGs at the grassroots level adopting thematic approach through concerted and collaborative efforts of Central Ministries and State Line Departments.

Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan Scheme was launched in 2018. It was for capacity building and training of the elected representatives of PRI. During 2018-19 to 2021-22, 1.36 crore elected representatives of PRI and their functionaries were given training. There was further revamping of the scheme to re-orient the capacity building of the elected representatives for localization of sustainable goals by 2030.The  17 SDG goals are subsumed into 9 themes.

1.88 lakh Gram Panchayats across the country have resolved to achieve at least one or two goals of the nine themes identified for Panchayati Raj Institutions during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

2.Ministry of Panchayati Raj joined the Nation in celebrating the countdown programme to the eighth International Day of Yoga at the Ministry premises here today. A Lecture-cum-Demonstration Session on Importance of Yoga in Daily Life was organised to mark 20 Days to International Day of Yoga, 2022 as part of Yoga Utsav – Countdown Programme for International Day of Yoga, 2022 on the Theme: Yoga for Humanity.

3.Svamitva scheme: It was launched in 2021. 31 states and UT have signed MoU with Survey of India for implementation. Drone Survey has completed in 1.36 Lakh villages across the country.

Nearly 69.4 lakh property cards have been prepared for nearly 41,236 villages. Drone survey is completed in all inhabited villages of 137 districts.

4.The flow of Central Finance Commission Grants is more than 5 times during 2014 to 2022 as compared to 2006-2014. 15th Finance Commission has devolved to all the three tiers of PRI earlier it was only at gram panchyat level.

5.E- Gram Swaraj accounting based software was launched in April 2020. 2,56,343 Gram panchayat Development plans have been prepared in 2021-22.
