Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center, New Delhi (RGCI) have installed the first-ever Made-in-India Surgical Robotic System, “SSI-Mantra”, devised by the new-age Indian med-tech start-up SS Innovations. The ingenious SSI Mantra, a brainchild of World-renowned robotic cardiac surgeon Dr Sudhir P Srivastava, will be signifying the beginning of a new era of surgical procedures in India, making robotic surgery accessible and affordable for the people of our country.

The Indian delegation, led by DG, BSF Pankaj Singh, arrived in Dhaka early on the first day of the 52nd BGB-BSF Director General level Border conference in Bangladesh. On the first day, a variety of topics including border management, drug trafficking, smuggling of weapons and ammunition, trafficking in women and children, and other development initiatives within 150 yards of the international boundary were discussed.

DIGI YATRA’ is a project conceived to achieve contactless, seamless processing of passengers at Airports, based on Facial Recognition Technology (FRT). The project basically envisages that any traveller may pass through various check points at the airport through a paperless and contactless processing, using facial features to establish the identity which would be linked to the boarding pass. It provides for decentralized mobile wallet-based identity management platform which is cost effective and addresses privacy/data protection issues in implementation of Digi Yatra. After approval of the revised Digi Yatra guidelines, an AIC (Aeronautical Information Circular) has been published by DGCA on 18.04.2022.

As per the provisional figures of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) , production level of important minerals in May, 2022 were: Coal 712 lakh tonnes, Lignite 42 lakh tonnes, Natural gas (utilized) 2846 million cu. m., Petroleum (crude) 26 lakh tonnes, Bauxite 2276 thousand tonnes, Chromite 320 thousand tonnes, Copper conc. 8 thousand tonnes , Gold 97 kg, Iron ore 221 lakh tonnes, Lead conc. 30 thousand tonnes, Manganese ore 235 thousand tonnes, Zinc conc. 129 thousand tonnes, Limestone 348 lakh tonnes, Phosphorite 143 thousand tonnes, Magnesite 8 thousand tonnes, and Diamond 22 carat. The production of important minerals showing positive growth during May, 2022 over May, 2021 include: Gold (212.9%), Phosphorite (121.4%), Coal (33.7%), Bauxite (31.5%), Lignite (25.8%), Magnesite (22.9%), Lead conc (18.7%), Zinc conc (15.6%), Limestone (8.5%), Natural Gas (U) (7.0%), and Petroleum (crude) (4.6%). The production of other important minerals showing negative growth include: Iron Ore (-5.6%), Copper conc (-33.5%), Manganese ore (-43.3%), and Chromite (-67.3%).
