It also signifies starting your routine on a sweet note after a month of Ramzan…the month of abstinence but praying.

On this day people wake up early to pray at a mosque or outdoor prayer venue. Gifts and cards are exchanged among friends and family. Eid means “celebration” and Mubarak means “blessed”, often Eid Mubarak is used as a greeting over this period and this day signals the start of Shawwal month in the Muslim calendar.

The Arabic name Eid al-Fitr translates to ‘festival of the breaking of the fast’ in English. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and marks the month in which the Quran was first revealed. The celebrations last for three days and are seen as a time of forgiveness and giving thanks to Allah for helping people to complete their spiritual fasting. Many people display this thanks giving by giving donations and food to those less fortunate than themselves.
May this festival brings good fortune and health for all in the future. Celebrate this festival with zest and may the day delight and the moments measure all the special joys for all of you to treasure. Along with the festivity also pledge to work hard, get devoted to achieve your goals this year; because if your will and determination are strong enough, nothing can stop you from being successful in your endeavors.
