Hello aspirants,

I am Satyam Kapadiya, B.tech Mechanical Graduate. I have been selected as a PO in Bank of Maharashtra and as a Clerk in Bank of Baroda. I started my preparation for Banking and SSC exams in July 2017.

Down here, I have stated my strategy and tips for each section.

  • English: This section was my weakest section throughout my journey but I kept practicing it and got good command over it. Make habit of reading a newspaper, it will help you in reading comprehension and also will keep you updated with news. With the newspaper reading, try to learn 10-15 new words every day to increase your vocabulary.

  • Reasoning: For reasoning, once you complete your sectional syllabus keep on practicing syllabus on a daily basis and use timer to analyze your speed of solving the puzzle. In this section, Practice is the only key. Give a sectional quiz on adda247.
  • Quantitative AptitudeRemember Cubes, Squares, and Tables to increase your speed. Make notes of each topic and also of short tricks and keep revising. DI is the main part of Quant so one should have good command on DI questions. Ratios, Percentage, Profit loss are some topics which will be helpful in solving DI questions.

  • General Awareness: Try to read current affairs on a daily basis and read 4-6 months of current affairs before your exam. CA contains the main part of this section. For banking awareness and static GK, you can read it from capsule available on adda247.

There were lots of ups and downs in my journey, had many problems but I decided not to give up. I would advise you don’t get panicked if you fail in the exam, just analyze where you lack and find out your weak topics, practice those topics over and again. Even I did not clear any prelims in 2017 but I believed in myself and kept preparing for the next exams. And before the starting of your exam in the exam hall keep your mind relaxed and only think positive. I used to tell my mind that “I can do it” again and again to stay away from negative thoughts.

Once you clear the prelims exam you will get 15-20 days, in these days you should revise your notes. I used Adda247 Capsule before main exams which were very helpful for GA section, apart from this I watched adda247 current affairs videos. I suggest you use a good test series and once you complete your syllabus start giving mock tests.I preferred ADDA247 mocks.

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”

My main focus was SSC CGL but before one week of bank exam dates, I started to prepare for bank exam and for whole one week I only attempted test and analyzed it.

“I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.”

I cleared six prelims (SBI clerk, IBPS RRB clerk, IBPS Clerk, IBPS PO, SSC CHSL, RRB Loco pilot) in 2018 and got selected as PO in Bank of Maharashtra and as Clerk in Bank of Baroda.

For IBPS interview I prepared from YouTube and watched mock sessions of Adda247 channel and read the last 6-month Banking awareness and Current affairs. My interview went good. I advise you to take it as a formal conversation where they will check how confident you are and how you represent yourself. Just be honest and confident during the interview. “I did my best and my best is good enough.” Thank you, Adda247 team and All the best to all aspirants.
