Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. 1. EXALT (Verb): सराहना करना
Meaning: think or speak very highly of (someone or something).
Synonyms: dignify, glorify
Antonyms: blame, condemn
Example: For a fee, most celebrities will exalt a product by pretending to like it.

2. MOTE (Noun) : कण
Meaning: a tiny piece of a substance; a speck.
Synonyms: bit, dribble, fleck, nugget.
Antonyms: lump, abundance, bushel, heaps.
Usage: Feeling anxious about the state of her home, the obsessive housewife scrubbed away every tiny mote of dust.

3. ESOTERIC (Adjective):  गुप्त
Meaning: mysterious, obscure
Synonyms: abstruse, mystical
Antonyms: common, familiar
Example: The medical research was so esoteric that only a few physicians could actually understand the results.

4. UNABATED (Adjective): अक्षीण
Meaning: without any reduction in intensity or strength.
Synonyms: incessant, persistent
Antonyms: intermittent, relenting
Example: They danced all night with unabated energy.

5. BENIGN (Adjective) : सौम्य
Meaning: pleasant and kind
Synonyms: gentle, friendly
Antonyms: harsh, bad
Example: The policeman smiled benignly at the motorist.

6. SHUNT (Verb) : अलग धकेलना
Meaning: to push or shove something
Synonyms: avoid, deter
Antonyms: aid, allow
Example: It’s unfortunate that our society tends to shunt older workers to retirement before they are ready.

7. TACIT (adjective) : सूचित
Meaning: understood or implied without being stated.
Synonyms: implicit, inferred, insinuated, unspoken.
Antonyms: blatant, evident, manifest, explicit.
Usage: In my business, all that is needed for a tacit understanding is a handshake between men.

8. PAUCITY (Noun): न्यूनता
Meaning: the presence of something in only small or insufficient quantities or amounts.
Synonyms: scarcity, dearth, shortage, rarity
Antonyms: abundance
Example: Because of the paucity of our oil supply, we need to seek out other fuel resources.

9. IMPASSE (Noun) : गतिरोध
Meaning: a situation in which no progress is possible, especially because of disagreement; a deadlock.
Synonyms: deadlock, dead end, stalemate, checkmate, stand-off; standstill
Antonyms: solution, boon
Example: Because of the impasse between workers and management, the factory has been closed for two weeks.

10. OGLE (Verb) : घूरना
Meaning: stare at in a lecherous manner.
Synonyms: stare, gawk
Antonyms: ignore, neglect
Example: Most women dislike being ogled .
