BOUT (Noun)
Meaning: a short period of intense activity of a specified kind.
Synonyms: spell, period, time, stretch, stint

EXPUNGE (verb) 
Meaning: obliterate or remove completely (something unwanted or unpleasant).
Synonyms: eradicate, eliminate, abolish, annihilate.
Antonyms: renovate, repair, restore, revamp.
Example: Time and the weather have expunged any evidence that a thriving community once existed here.

DEVOLVE (verb) 
Meaning: transfer or delegate (power) to a lower level, especially from central government to local or regional administration.
Synonyms: depute, assign, consign, entrust.
Antonyms: centralize, retain, preserve, confine.
Example: The State Government devolving its powers on local self-governments is not to be criticized.

Blitzkrieg:(Noun)
Meaning:– a sudden and overwhelming military attack, A fast and powerful effort
Synonyms: Blitz, barrage, bombardment, cannonade, drumfire, flurry, fusillade
Antonyms: defensive, opposition, resistance, protection, security, shelter.

Atrabilious (Adjective) 
Meaning: given or marked by melancholy
Synonyms: Doleful, Lugubrious, discontent, discouraged, rueful, despondent, miserable, morose
Antonyms: placid, easygoing
Example:- Since my friend has a atrabilious temper I don’t approach him often.

Plaintive (Adjective) 
Meaning: expressing suffering or sadness, sounding sad and mournful.
Synonym: aching, agonized, bitter, mournful, sad, wistful, doleful, pathetic, pitiful, piteous, melancholy, lamentable
Antonym: delighted, exulting, glorying, happy, joyful, rejoicing, triumphant, jocus, blithesome, euphoric.
Example:- We could hear the plaintive cry of the wounded animal in the woods.
