Meaning: Secretly involved in immoral or illegal activity.

HOODWINK(Verb)
Meaning: Deceive or trick
Synonym: Outwit, fool, swindle
Antonym: Undeceive, protect
Usage:  Beware of the fake calls that try to hoodwink you into giving your bank details.
DISTRATE (adjective) 
Meaning: distracted or absent-minded.
Synonyms: forgetful, inattentive, oblivious, heedless.
Antonyms: alert, attentive, focused, unperturbed.
Usage: He grew more and more distrait as hours passed without confirmation that there were survivors of the plane crash
BENIGNANT (adjective)
Meaning: having or marked by sympathy and consideration for others.
Synonyms: beneficent, benevolent, compassionate, softhearted.
Antonyms: atrocious, barbarous, callous, fiendish.
Usage:  The queen had a benignant reputation and was loved for her caring treatment of others.

NONPAREIL (adjective) 
Meaning: having no match or equal; unrivaled.
Synonyms: incomparable, matchless, unrivaled, inimitable.
Antonyms: familiar, frequent, normal, ordinary.
Usage: The champions deserved the title because they were nonpareil all season and won every game.
LENITY (noun)
Meaning: kind, gentle, or compassionate treatment especially towards someone who is undeserving of it.
Synonyms: charity, clemency, forbearance, leniency.
Antonyms: ruthlessness, vengeance, vindictiveness, virulence.
Usage: This savage punishment was approved by the higher officers of the navy, who showed great lenity to men of their own rank.

ACQUIT (Verb) 
Meaning: free (someone) from a criminal charge by a verdict of not guilty.
Synonyms: absolve, exonerate, exculpate, vindicate
Antonyms: convict
Usage: They always acquit themselves of their duty very well.

VALIANT (Adjective) 
Meaning: possessing or showing courage or determination.
Synonyms: brave, fearless, courageous, valorous
Antonyms: cowardly, irresolute
Usage:  Firemen are valiant individuals who put their lives on the line to save others.

SUCCOUR (Noun)
Meaning: assistance and support in times of hardship and distress.
Synonyms: aid, assistance, support, ease
Usage:  Even though Holly is painfully shy, she is never hesitant to offer succor to anyone who is in pain.
