4th Anniversary of NEP 2020 Celebrated at Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2024

The Ministry of Education celebrated the 4th anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam (ABSS) 2024, held at the Manekshaw Centre Auditorium in New Delhi. The event, attended by key ministers, officials, academicians, and students, featured the release of books and lecture notes by the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Division. The celebration also included the launch of several significant initiatives and a series of thematic sessions on various NEP 2020-related topics.

Department Of Atomic Energy Inaugurates ‘One DAE One Subscription’

The inaugural ceremony of ‘One DAE One Subscription’ (ODOS) took place on July 29, at Tata Memorial Hospital, in Mumbai. ODOS is a unique idea enabling Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) & all its units/subunits (about 60) together under one umbrella for read and publish access to national and international research papers as well as scientific journals.

628 Tigers Die In India During The Past Five Years

A total of 628 tigers died in India during the past five years due to natural causes and other reasons, including poaching, according to government data. Meanwhile, 349 people were killed in tiger attacks during this period, with Maharashtra alone recording 200 deaths.

India’s Anti-Dumping and Tariff Measures in 2023

In 2023, India experienced a notable reduction in average tariffs while increasing the use of non-tariff measures. According to the WTO report, India’s average tariffs decreased to 17% from 18.1% in 2022. Despite this, India remained one of the top countries in initiating and imposing anti-dumping duties, second only to the US. The reduction in average tariffs contrasted with an increase in anti-dumping measures and the application of other trade defense tools.
