Economic Survey 2019-20: Economic Survey, a flagship annual document of the Finance Ministry is going to be presented today (31 January). It is going to be laid on the table of parliament, a day before the presentation of the Budget 2020. This year’s Economic survey is being prepared by Chief Economic Advisor, Krishnamurthy V Subramanian.
With the slowdown of economy, this year’s economic survey is the much-awaited report card as it is called the whole year’s economic performance of our nation. The whole nation must be eagerly waiting for the Economic Survey to know the current fiscal. The survey will be presented by the Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman in both the houses. The report will be followed by a press conference where the Chief Economic Advisor and his team will discuss on the economic roadmap for the next fiscal.

What is Economic Survey?
Economic Survey is an annual document of the Finance Ministry that covers the reviews of economic progress and issues of the past 12 months. It has the performance data of major Government developmental schemes and policies and their impact.
What is the other name for the Economic survey and what it covers?
It is known as the annual document of Finance Ministry. This document covers fiscal development, inflation, macroeconomic factors, etc providing an overall concrete economic performance for last 12 months. Other than this, it talks about the impact of climate change, agriculture and employment on the economy of the country.
It is expected that Economic Survey 2019-20 will cover the issues related to sustainable development and climate change, external sector, agriculture and food management, industry and infrastructure, services sector and social infrastructure, employment and human development in detail.

When will Economic Survey 2019-20 be released?
The Economic survey is always released before the budget presentation. Economic Survey 2019-20 will be released on 31 January 2020, just a day before the Budget 2020. The PDF version will be ready to download at 1:45 pm at https://www.indiabudget.gov.in/
