1. India, Vietnam Inks Three MoUs

i. India and Vietnam inked three agreements in the areas of trade, agriculture and atomic energy. The countries signed an MoU on economic and trade cooperation to establish a framework for enhancing economic and trade promotion.
ii. Another MoU signed on Cooperation between the Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership, India (GCNEP) and the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) to strengthen the technical cooperation in the field of atomic energy for peaceful purposes.

2. India, Vietnam calls upon all nations to adopt comprehensive approach in combating terrorism

i. India and Vietnam unequivocally condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism. 
ii. In a joint statement issued after the talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang in New Delhi, both leaders have called upon all nations to adopt a comprehensive approach in combating terrorism, include countering radicalisation, recruitment, training and movement of foreign terrorist fighters and blocking sources of financing terrorism.

3. Odisha govt launches ‘Ama Gaon, Ama Vikas’ programme

i. The Odisha government has launched a programme Ama Gaon, Ama Vikas (Our Village, our development) to reach out to the people in rural areas and involve themselves in the developmental activities. 
ii. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has flagged off mobile video vans for ‘Ama Gaon Ama Vikas’ programme that will move across the State to highlight various welfare schemes at villages in the state. 
4. Conrad Sangma to be Next Meghalaya CM

i. National People’s Party (NPP) President Conrad Sangma will be the new chief minister of Meghalaya. There would be no deputy chief minister for the state.

7. Odisha Launches ‘KHUSHI’ Scheme To Provide Free Sanitary Pads

i. The Odisha government launched KHUSHI scheme to provide free sanitary napkins to school girls across the state. The scheme will be implemented by the health and family welfare department of the state at a cost of 70 crore per year.
ii. Under the scheme, the state will provide free sanitary napkins to 17 lakh girls studying in Classes 6 to 12 in government and government-aided schools. The announcement was made by the CM of Odisha Naveen Patnaik.

8. “Namaste Shalom”- Magazine on India-Israel Relations Launched

9. India, Israel Inked MoU on Water Conservation

i. The government of India has signed an MoU with Israel to enhance cooperation on ‘National Campaign for Water Conservation in India’. It was announced by the Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation S S Ahluwalia.
ii. As per this MoU, both sides would work to enhance cooperation at the national, regional and international level to design, implement and monitor a professionally designed National Water Conservation Campaign in India to put water conservation on to the national agenda.

11. Shatrughan Sinha Wins Lifetime Achievement Award in UK

i. Actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha has been honoured with the lifetime achievement award for his contribution to the fields of arts and politics in the United Kingdom. 
ii. The annual Political and Public Life Awards instituted by Britain’s Asian Voice weekly newspaper was presented at a ceremony in the UK’s Parliament complex in London.

12. RBI Lifts Per-Borrower Loan Capitalization for MSMEs

i. The Reserve Bank of India has decided to do away with the per borrower loan limits to Micro/Small and Medium Enterprises (Services) for classification under priority sector lending.
ii. So far, loans to Micro/Small and Medium Enterprises (Services) up to Rs5 crore and Rs10 crore, respectively, were classified as priority sector lending (PSL).
iii. Now all bank loans to MSMEs engaged in providing or rendering services as defined in terms of investment in equipment under the MSMED Act, 2006, will qualify under priority sector without any credit cap.

16. Rashid Khan Becomes Youngest Captain in International Cricket History

17. ISSF World Cup 2018- Shahzar Rizvi Sets World Record; Manu Bhaker Wins Gold

i. On the opening day of the ISSF World Cup at Guadalajara in Mexico, India had won four medals which include two gold and two bronze. Shahzar Rizvi clinched the gold medal with a world record score in his maiden ISSF World Cup appearance. 

ii. Rizvi shot a world record 242.3 in the 10-metre air pistol event’s final to beat reigning Olympic champion, Christian Reitz of Germany, to win the top prize. Manu Bhaker won the gold medal in 10 metre Air Pistol Women.

iii. Pistol ace Jitu Rai won the bronze in the event, as three Indians made it to the finals of the season’s first World Cup. Mehuli Ghosh shot a world junior record 228.4 to win bronze in the women’s 10-metre air rifle event.

18. Veteran Literateur Prafulla Das Passes Away

i. Veteran Literateur Prafulla Das passed away. He was 91. He worked in Odia language. He was a recipient of the prestigious “Sarala Award” for his achievement in the literary field.
