Due to the ever increasing threat posed by the Coronavirus pandemic, the education sector in the country is going through a tough time. Multiple delays, postponements, and cancellations of the entrance exams in the country have led to a lot of confusion amongst the candidates. There is now an extremely important update for all the candidates who have been preparing to appear for the CLAT 2020 Exam. As per the latest updates shared by the Consortium of National Law Universities, the new dates for the CLAT 2020 Exam have been decided. The CLAT 2020 Exam will now be conducted on 22nd August 2020 through the online centre-based mechanism.

There have been several deferments of the CLAT 2020 Exam due to the coronavirus threat in the country. Originally, the exam was scheduled for 10th May 2020 but then it was postponed to 24th May 2020, and then to 21st June 2020. But as the situation in the country was far from conducive, the exam was further deferred by the CNLU. Now that the new dates have been announced for the CLAT 2020 Exam, candidates must plan their preparations accordingly.
CLAT 2020 Exam: Important Details
As per the notification issued by the Consortium, the last date for registration for CLAT 2020 Exam has now been extended to 10th July 2020. So, all the students who were unable to register for the CLAT 2020 Exam due to any reason, can now register for the exam through the official website of the CLAT 2020. Moreover, all the candidates who had registered for the exam previously, can confirm their examination centres or withdraw their applications by 10th July 2020.
Application Fee:
If the candidates decide to withdraw their applications for CLAT 2020, their application fee will be refunded but after certain deductions as follows: –
- For SC/ST candidates the deduction will be of Rs. 400.
- For other candidates the deduction will be of Rs. 500.
The balance application fee will be refunded to the candidates by 18th July 2020.
In order to help the candidates get a grasp of the new exam format, CNLU will be conducting online mock tests for all the candidates who have completed their registrations. Other guidelines will be published on the official website in due course.
